In response to findings that demonstrate a large disconnect between scientists and the American public (e.g., two-thirds of Americans couldn’t name a living scientist on a 2016 Research!America poll), many have increased efforts to effectively communicate their research and conduct public outreach. To me, it’s also important to showcase the people doing the science, and what the scientific process looks like for different research fields.
In 2014 and 2015, I filmed and edited a series of short interviews with graduate students about their lives, hobbies, and research called Chatting with Scientists. A few are below. You can see the entire set on the Chatting with Scientists YouTube channel!
